About the Founders

Luke Zimmerman and Ryan Freed are the founders of Green Image Lawn Care. Both started their professional careers on a golf course management setting after completion of their Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Science from the Pennsylvania State University. Luke and Ryan’s true passion within the green industry developed with the formation of Green Image Lawn Care.

Luke Zimmerman

Luke’s interest in agronomy started during a summer job at Miller Plant Farm. His interest led to a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Science from Pennsylvania State University. During college Luke interned at Regents’ Glen Country Club golf course. After graduation, Luke managed the golf courses of the Country Club of York and the Outdoor Country Club as assistant superintendent. Luke then advised other golf course superintendents, townships, and lawn care operators as a territory sales representative for Turf Trade. Luke’s true passion in the industry developed during the creation of Green Image Lawn Care and relationships that have been developed within its customer base and team members.

Ryan Freed

Ryan began at the age of 15 working at a local golf course, and later decided to enroll at Penn State to get a bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Science. He took an internship at Downingtown Country Club and then upon graduation, joined Springfield Country Club as the Assistant Superintendent. After 4 years, he became Superintendent at Regents Glen Country Club, where he spent the next 9 years keeping the course in immaculate condition. At the end of 2009, Ryan decided to begin his dream of starting and owning a business. In 2010, Green Traditions was established and serviced customers with personalized lawn care. Green Traditions serviced over 500 residential accounts and maintained 23 HOA properties throughout years. In 2018, Green Traditions successfully merged with Green Image Lawn Care to continue providing superior lawn care to its customers.
